Don’t tell Bobby Labonte he can’t take anything positive out of finishing 33rd. The former NASCAR champion isn’t completely disappointed about running out of gas a lap from the finish of Sunday’s road race at Sonoma, Calif.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will likely have race with a new number under Hendrick Motorsports next sesason.  Earnhardt Jr.’s new team won’t be able to purchase No. 8 from Dale Earnhardt Inc., according to a report from the Charlotte Observer. The team won’t be able to make any other transactions for the number.

When six crew members were thrown out of the Daytona 500 for cheating it was suggested that NASCAR start suspending drivers as part of the penalty process.

NASCAR filed a $100 million counter claim against AT&T Inc. on Sunday, accusing the wireless provider of interfering with its exclusive sponsorship agreement with rival wireless company Nextel.
